DMP Media Scape Draft

We will be using Adobe Creative Cloud to create a video of our entire group, although each person will be in their own pre-recorded video. After the person shares their story, they will slide out of frame until we are left with only one person. We are also going to be using a drone to shoot a video for the beginning of our video. We are individually recording using our phones. We are using background instrumental music to create effect and ocean sounds at the ending to signify a feeling of openness. These different media sources allow us to each have responsibility for the project while also being able to come together and create our final project cohesively. Below I have shared a rough outline of the digital media plan we are going to use.

Medium Specificity

I used the app Unfold as my medium. It's designed for Instagram stories, but I wanted to see what other purposes it might have. I got this idea because I had made Instagram stories of pictures of md my boyfriend, but I wanted a way of putting them all together as almost like an online scrapbook. I first made a "story" on Unfold of all the picture collages/pages I had made so far. Unfold offers a variety of templates to use, up to 5 pictures in a variety of layouts, in addition to some with words and without. There is also the option to add text, stickers, and change the color of the "page." You can duplicate the page, in addition to switching the order of the pages. I loved being able to explore how to format the pictures within each page. You could zoom in, switch the picture location, and adjust the filters of the pictures. Thinking and Writing About Digital Media

In reference to creating media, I tend to primarily create poetry. I have recently begun to delve into lyrical essays, as well as performing at poetry slams. Words are an important source of truth and goodness, and I want to be a part of creating more of that in the world. I also absolutely love making or filming funny videos with my younger sisters that have a vibe similar to TikTok videos. These creations make me feel like more of who I am, and they allow me to showcase sides of myself that people normally don't get to see or experience. After some reflection, I have realized that I create the media I do because it brings me joy, and it creates human connection.  In reference to consumption, media is like chocolate. I almost never say no to it, although I don't consider it an addiction, merely something that I enjoy. Unless I have too much of it, that is.
