DMP Pitch

My idea for the video was to have two or more interviews showing how physical human connection can influence how we tell our stories. My interview with Garrett was short, very succinct, and I realized that the fact it was over the phone could have influenced this. I want my next interview to be in person, and in the final product I want to have a wall between myself and another person as I act out Garrett's interview, and I want to be close to another person when I act out my in-person interviews. I also discussed the idea of how to do physical actions when I didn't see any, and I had the idea to have myself in a dark room where you couldn't really see my actions, or to FaceTime Garrett and familiarize myself with his mannerisms. I also mentioned how I needed to practice the cadence of speech of each interviewee to better perform them verbatim.

DMP Audio Interview

Here is the audio from my interview, I couldn't figure out how to get it on here, so I made it into a video on YouTube and attached the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SNCZAm5WMiw&feature=youtu.be I interviewed my friend Garrett, he's 20, and he is somewhat religious in the sense that he believes in God, but he doesn't really practice any faith and he isn't a member of our church. He's from Mansfield, Texas and is currently a college student at Texas A&M. "Um...I had a football for a long time in Virginia, and I specifically remember that I probably played with for like hours, or like days over years with my friends. Kinda reminds me of them when I think about that." "You should never let it [loss] bring you down to where you're consistently losing more. You should learn from it, and try and make life better out of it, no matter how hard it can be because if you let that loss compound it's only gonna be worse."

DMP Personal Stories and DMP Interview Questions

These are my 3 video stories: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=63Rs7r5ONA0&feature=youtu.be https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hd0gfFiCoRs&feature=youtu.be https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M7xxgbVzV5Y&feature=youtu.be Interview Questions: Focus: loss What’s a physical object you lost that you still haven’t forgotten?  What is your philosophy on loss? How to handle it?  What moment was a big moment that changed your life?  What did you lose after that moment? Do you feel like you have gained anything from this? And if yes, what is it?  How did you cope with that moment?  What was your life like before it?  What was it like during it?  What was it like after?  What came into perspective?  How is your life now? End with the loss associated with COVID-19 and leave it open. Open ended search in life. We are going to continue to lose and continue to find.

DMP Theme, Topic, or Guiding Question

We want to collectively explore pivotal moments : major, life-changing events that have placed us on the course we are on in our own lives today. The narrative of those pivotal moments usually starts with loss and fear. Then, from that fear, sacrifices are made, choices are made, and we come out with more insight and knowledge than before. In short, some things are found through pivotal moments just as some things are lost through them. We want to collectively explore the theme of loss, and how pivotal moments either bring us to, out, or through that feelings of loss. We also want to explore the idea of being found after being lost, and how those pivotal moments helped us to find certain aspects of life, or to be found ourselves. Within this exploration, we also want to explore the orbits of our life in connection with others. What are our individual pivotal experiences? How are they unique and different from one another and show our individual loss/found development? How are they sim...
