Rough overview of our video:


Beginning: 
* Drone video of winding road and one solitary car. Computer generated voice defiing "Loss". 
* We each hold up a sign that says the name and age of our "interviewee" that we'll be performing. 
* We tell stories of a physical object they've lost in the past that they haven't forgotten. 

Transition: 
* Maddy walking on sidewalk - calm music - 2nd defintion of loss

Middle: 
* We tell our verbatim stories of pivotal moments where they lost something. Do a beginning, middle, and end. Some overlapping of words. Some repetition. 

Transition: 
* Maddy walking - calm music - 3rd defintion of loss

Middle: 
* We tell our verbatim philosophies on loss. 
* We hold up signs that say our name, our age. We change into grungy clothes like sweats and robes, we put toilet paper all around us, we film inisde. 
* We tell our own philophies on loss, each building on the next one. 

End: 
* Maddy walking - finally gets to the end of the sidewalk where it hits the desert dirt. She pans into the sky. Ocean sounds. The last stanza of "When the Sidewalk Ends" is read by a computer generated voice.

Medium Specificity

I used the app Unfold as my medium. It's designed for Instagram stories, but I wanted to see what other purposes it might have. I got this idea because I had made Instagram stories of pictures of md my boyfriend, but I wanted a way of putting them all together as almost like an online scrapbook. I first made a "story" on Unfold of all the picture collages/pages I had made so far. Unfold offers a variety of templates to use, up to 5 pictures in a variety of layouts, in addition to some with words and without. There is also the option to add text, stickers, and change the color of the "page." You can duplicate the page, in addition to switching the order of the pages. I loved being able to explore how to format the pictures within each page. You could zoom in, switch the picture location, and adjust the filters of the pictures. Thinking and Writing About Digital Media

In reference to creating media, I tend to primarily create poetry. I have recently begun to delve into lyrical essays, as well as performing at poetry slams. Words are an important source of truth and goodness, and I want to be a part of creating more of that in the world. I also absolutely love making or filming funny videos with my younger sisters that have a vibe similar to TikTok videos. These creations make me feel like more of who I am, and they allow me to showcase sides of myself that people normally don't get to see or experience. After some reflection, I have realized that I create the media I do because it brings me joy, and it creates human connection.  In reference to consumption, media is like chocolate. I almost never say no to it, although I don't consider it an addiction, merely something that I enjoy. Unless I have too much of it, that is.
